Baby Room Project

When we found out we were pregnant, we realized that our spare room would need to be converted into a baby room, but with the busyness of Fall & the Holidays, I decided the baby room project could wait until January when things slowed down a bit.  Before we knew it, January was over & the baby room sat practically untouched.  So, in the beginning of February we hit the ground running.

It's funny how when you start a project you think it should only take a certain amount of time, but when you get going, you find out there is more that needs to be done than you first realized.  Then you take a few weekend trips and your husband catches the flu and all of a sudden March is almost over & the baby room still isn't finished! We are however close to completion & if things go as planned, we should be done by the end of March...which is a good thing because I'm officially full term, my doctor informed me this morning, on March 29th!  After that, we could technically have a baby any time!

Here are a few pictures of our progress.

Before Picture #1
Close up of baseboard vents
Before Picture #2
Before Picture #3 (zig-zag wall)
Ryan fixing our nail pops.
Smoothing things out
We are so thankful for the help of Ryan's dad.  He's spent
about as much time in this room as we have!
Baseboard vents removed!
Keith trying to figure out how to put floor vents in.
Gearin' up to help his dad!
Deciding where to cut the new hole.
Making the first cut...notice all the nail pops we fixed
(& when I say we I mean Ryan & his Dad!)
Hello Floor Vents!
Priming over mud.
We had a lot of fixing to do on the walls!  You can also
kinda see the floor vents in the corner...so much
better than the baseboard vents!
My meticulous hubby...a practically perfect trim job!
Late night painting...there were several nights of this in a row!
Zig-zag pattern you will not intimidate us (& when I say us
I mean Ryan b/c it sure did intimidate & frustrate me!)
Making sure our zig-zag's are straight.
Finally something I could help with!  For the most part it
was fun...although there were times of extreme frustration
when things weren't working out like they were suppose to!
Quick break for a picture.
We were almost done...& then Ryan got sick :(  We're hoping
to finish on Saturday if he's feeling better.
Stay tuned for more pictures!  We are having our floors re-finished next week & planning to move baby stuff in the week after.  Hopefully it turns out like we're envisioning it!

  1. WOW...when you said zig-zag, I was picturing 1 zig-zag on your wall. But that looks awesome:) I can't wait to see the whole thing finished. And even more than that to hold my little niece or nephew in my arms:)

  2. Oh the zig-zag... Thanks for not inviting me to the paint party. I would have been a real downer on the whole thing. Just ask Sarah... :) Looking forward to seeing the "finished" product. The room looks great!
