Charity Giveaway!

I hear that if I want to find out who's following my blog, I have to do a Giveaway.  My Giveaway, however, has a slightly different twist than most Giveaways.  Here's how it works:

1.  Leave a comment which includes a Charity of your choice.
2.  Write a sentence or two telling us a little bit about this Charity.
3.  Each comment will be worth $5.
4.  All of the Charity's mentioned will get thrown into a hat & we will draw one.
5.  That charity will then receive a check based on the number of comments we receive!

Further Conditions & "Rules"

*This Giveaway ends Friday, August 23 @ midnight.

*Only one Charity per person.

*Charities can be anything from an organization to a missionary family abroad.

*Every Charity will get thrown in as many times as it is mentioned.  So if 5 people mention the same Charity, that Charity will go into the hat 5 times.

*If you share this Giveaway on your blog and/or facebook page your donation will be doubled to $10!  (If you choose to do this, please let me know in your comment so I don't miss anything.)

We often give to a lot of the same charities so this will broaden our vision, & hopefully yours too!

  3. got to put a plug in for Lifesong for Orphans -- great organization partnering with adoptive families to bring orphans into forever families, ministering to local foster care communities, and developing in-country orphan care initiatives to help, educate and give JESUS to orphans right where they are at. Another awesome thing: 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the need -- helping orphans. NONE goes towards admin expenses. :D

  8. Hi Jamy, I don't know if I've ever met you but I do know who you are and enjoy reading your blog!
I would like to put Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped in the drawing. They serve adults with developmental disabilities, ranging from mild to severe. One of the things in their mission is "believing all people have dignity and potential". I worked there for awhile and had a clinical rotation there and they are a very special group of people that are easy to fall in love with!

    1. Thanks for your comment Sarah! I "know" you through Sarah's blog (Flying Kites). I think I've heard of Home for the Handicapped before, but have to honestly say I've never really looked into it! What a neat ministry!

  10. Focus on the Family:
Mission statement from website- To cooperate with the Holy Spirit in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible by nurturing and defending the God-ordained institution of the family and promoting biblical truths worldwide.
We receive a lot of mail from this organization asking for money. My wife grew up with adventures in Odyssey. And we still listen to them some and appreciate their teachings. They have a lot of valuable teachings also.

  12. What a good idea. I would like to enter Nathan & Rachel Mueller's missionary fund. ;) They are a Godly family in training at the Missionary Training Center in Missouri. They plan to head to the "jungle" in a few years to share the gospel with an unreached people group! :)

  16. The above suggested charities are all wonderful. Trying to think of something different that we support is Habitat for Humanity. They put families in need of a place to live in a home of there very own. The families do help with sweat equity and make payments as they would on any other property purchase. This is a local charity and I feel very confident in the people who run this charity. Cyndee
