Week 1 & 2

No, we have not dropped off the face of the earth in the last 2 months.  We have, however, been quite busy & thus nothing but silence has been heard!  So here are some updates on how things have been going for us over the last 9 weeks! (Just typing that seems CrAzY!  I can't believe our little guy is 9 weeks old already!)

WEEK 1:

We came home from the hospital on Saturday May 4th.  Leo was 2 days old & still adjusting to being outside the womb I'm sure!  Monday we went back to the hospital for a weight check.  Good news was that he was back up at his birth weight.  Bad news was he had jaundice, so the Billi Blanket came to our house for 5 days to visit.

We thought his complexion was cute.  Dr. Hipp. didn't agree!
After a long cranky day, Grandma Kay came to the rescue
& gave me a chance to get a good night's sleep while she
stayed with Leo & woke me when he was hungry.
The Billi Blanket & Bassinet were not a great combo so...
We improvised & took the mattress out of the Bassinet.
It was so much less of a hassle for everyone!
WEEK 2:

The Billi Blanket came off on Saturday & I finally felt like we could really enjoy our little boy.

On Friday, cousin Char came for a visit!
We liked the mattress on the floor in the living room,
so Leo slept there for quite a while, even though
he wasn't on the Billi Blanket any more!
We were so thankful he took his fooler/passi/nuk/binkie
(whatever you call it!) right from the start.
Sleeping in with Dad on Saturday.
What a great place to lay :)
Ryan started taking pictures for Leo's birth announcement,
but more about that later!
My first attempt at a bath.  Leo wasn't so sure!
After that first bath we realized that our little guy was
going to have crazy curly hair!  This is something
I hadn't anticipated!  We love it though!
Only 10 days old but ready for his
first Sunday at church!
At one day shy of two weeks old, Leo received his first piece of mail.
It's official, out little guy is in the system!
The first two weeks went relatively well!  There were a couple days of fussing, but overall, Leo was great!  He ate every 2 hours during the day, but then slept great at night...4 or 5 hours at a time!  I can honestly say I wasn't exhausted by the end of week two.  I was enjoying (almost) every minute of my time with him!

  1. Wow, is that little guy cute! He resembles someone? Luckily for him it's not just daddy. Mommy's good looks filled in the cracks :)
