Week 3 & 4

Week 3:

I had totally prepared myself for the worst!  I heard all kinds of horror stories about new babies & the first few weeks at home.  Some babies are really fussy.  Some babies get their days & nights mixed up.  Some babies don't breast feed well...you get the picture!  Thankfully, none of those things happened with Leo!  Ryan & I were both falling fast & hard  for our little boy.

Perry & Taff stopped by one evening to meet Leo.
We finally moved Leo to his crib when he was
a little over two weeks old.
Yes, his hair is un-tamable!
Leo loved his car seat.  Riding almost always
put him right to sleep.
Sportin' Dad's favorite sleeper!
Ryan's good friend Adam came over on Wednesday to meet Leo.
We had a great evening, but only managed to snap one picture.
This is Ryan's very painful splinter he acquired that day.  We tried to
extract is several different ways but finally gave up.  A chunk of our
evening revolved around figuring out how to remove this splinter,
and thus the picture!  We learned a lesson that night, trying to extract
a splinter under a fingernail with a needle is NOT a good idea!  Letting
it grow out on it's own is a much better idea :)

Week 4:

Leo went to Bear Lake for the first time on Memorial Day.  It ended up being cloudy & rainy so we spent most of the day inside.  He got passed around a lot.  Being held all day long was rough :) The next 4 days were spent mostly at BKM.  Yep, we both went back to work 3 weeks & 5 days after Leo was born!  (Not by choice mind you. Both office girls decided to take a vacation & I'm the only other person who knows what to do, so back to work we went!) Leo was, in the words of my boss, "practically perfect" and everyone enjoyed having him!  I was exhausted by Friday but we had fun.  It felt great to be productive again!  I told Ryan that it made me excited to go back officially in a couple more weeks.

After bath #3 I tried putting a hat on Leo to see if his hair would
lay down a little better.  It worked (see next few pictures),
but then we decided we liked the crazy hair so it was
back to un-tamable after the next bath.
I know this is hard to believe, but we did see
a lot of very alert eyes in that first month.
Leo's favorite sleeping position #1.  Yes, if you
outlined his body with spray paint, you'd think
he was dead.  Turns out, he feels very secure
which warrants this position.
Ryan trying to figure out what is so great about Leo's
favorite sleeping position #2.  Babies are crazy flexible!
This would definitely NOT be Ryan's position of choice.
"I can't believe she just snapped a picture of me,
I'm practically naked!"
I went to bed early that week, so Ryan stayed up with
Leo & worked on his birth announcements.
Pictures & design by Ryan!

  1. hehe...love that pic right above the birth announcement. I told Klint this week I'm excited to spend a week with Leo in H.H. I feel like I really haven't gotten to know him yet!!
