Date Night

Have you ever looked around your house & wondered...

Why haven't I found something to put on that shelf yet?

Why is there NOT a cute picture of Ryan & me in that frame?

Why are these not hung?  We've had them for over a year!

Why have we been using this end table for over 2.5 years & not bought one that matches the room!

Then you look at your calendar,

and realize that the reason these things haven't been accomplished is because your months typically look like this & on the nights you have nothing planned, the last thing you want to do is work on your house!  A movie, game or dinner out sounds way more relaxing thank-you-very-much!

Can anyone relate?

Well we decided it was really & truly time to get a new end table.  We have looked around on different occasions, but just haven't found the perfect piece.  You know, the one you fall in love with the moment you lay eyes on it!

So anyways, Saturday we had a completely free day...aside from mowing, spraying round-up, grocery shopping, pulling dead flowers & laundy that is...so we decided to have a date night.  Eating & furniture shopping were the two things on our list that needed to be done!

We started at

I had a delicious Sweet Glazed Pork Tenderloin
Seriously, this was the best meal I've had in a long time!
The presentation was amazing too!
Ryan enjoyed Alice Springs Quesadillas

We even got right in because there was an open table in the bar area so NO WAIT!

Our next stop was Sofa Mart to look for end tables.  It didn't take us long to spot something we loved.  It is somewhat unusual for Ryan & I to agree on the same furniture but we BOTH instantly loved what we saw.  After talking to the Sales Rep for a while & discussing between the two of us, we decided to just go for it, even though it was a little more than we were planning to spend.  We happily exited the store with a receipt for...
A Couch!

And A Chair + Ottoman

Oh yeah, we also got a coffee table.

And did I forget to mention 2 end tables?!

Yep, we accomplished A LOT, but didn't find a replacement for this!

So, I guess we'll just have to go back up to Fort Wayne sometime & do some more shopping! Hopefully next time we won't get side-tracked

  1. Oh my goodness! I was NOT expecting THAT! Love it! Where are you planning on putting all of that? In your smaller living room?

    Congrats!

And great choice on your meal, Ryan - that's what I order too :)

    1. Yep, we're planning on our smaller room. The couch was given to us when we got married so we're going to probably donate that to someone & the coffee table is Jenna's so we were going to have to give that back when their new house is built. As for the lazy boy...we're not sure if we're going to keep it or give that away too.
